Good game, good game...

Five original arts projects celebrating Worthing's past, present and even imagined future have all been successful in being awarded a £300 grant from Worthing Arts. What all the projects have in common is an emphasis on regeneration.

The winners of "The Regeneration Game" small arts grant scheme have been announced and the five projects to be funded are as follows:

A Victorian Costume Day, where people can learn about costume from days gone by and even design and make their own Victorian-inspired creations, in the build up to Worthing's Christ Church Community play in 2014

A Performance by Worthing Choral Society of "Song of the Seasons" - an original musical piece by local choirmaster and legend, Aedan Kerney MBE, based on memories of the area's association with the horticulture industry

"Seascape" A tactile mural sculpture by artist Tana Jackson representing the sea, to be sited inland in the town, to create the illusion of an ocean vista

A Series of outdoor performances, lead by Melody Bridges, at Splash Point this summer, celebrating local writers (both historical and current) and their works

Larger-than-life Zombie puppets, to lead the forthcoming Worthing Zombie Parate by the Maybridge Community Centre in November

There will be an open Worthing Arts event at the Heene Gallery, Heene Road on March 28th at 7pm to celebrate the success, find out more about the five projects and see how you can get involved with some of them.
